Gathering Sunshine … Silent Safari Style
Adjacent to the She Shed, in the midst of the garden near a contrast gradient of light and dark, cool and warmth, bright color and neutral green, sits a butterfly on safari. It is the hunter of just the right color combination containing just the proper mixture of nectar and nutrition. A feast for the senses completes the mission … not the edge of the party, but the very center of attention.
A wisp of bird sounds and tree breezes accompanies the nectar hunter, while the sunlight feeds the hungry cells in it’s wings. The complete package … mission accomplished.
Just as the butterfly is compelled … we are compelled to enjoy and appreciate it’s contribution to the ambientscape around us.

Unique Interior Design … Silent Safari Style
Lately I’ve been working on cabins … Silent Safari Style. What that means is nature inspired interiors, in this case, for the Wolf Winds Cabin. Imagine hearing the sounds of the wolves howls … their language. Breathe their air, associate with the pack. What textures are in their environment, colors, scents, objects? An artist might say, “become the wolf, then paint the animal.” When I design for my clients, I place them in an environment that removes the sterile world and immerses them in the world they hired me to create.
The piece featured in this photo is a hand carved wolf from the early nineteen hundreds.
Whatever nature inspiration you desire for your own cabin, surround yourself with elements that put you in touch with your ideal getaway.
Happy treasure hunting …

Turquoise In Ambient Design
When applying ambient mood in design, look around and see what you can use as a backdrop or prop. In this case, the clients interior is all about turquoise, both in color and in the actual element. The energy you are using is from the rock, which supports the turquoise both as an element and as complimentary color. And, at the same time, places you in touch with the natural world. The bronze metal pulls from the earth also. Splendid!
For those who asked … the necklace is Jay King and the pendant is Barse.

Sweet Magnolia … Fine Art Imagery
The magnolia, a classic sign of welcome in the south and an elegant, familiar image in the interior.
Play off the creamy white and yellow, accented with black to coordinate the entire room. For sounds; birds, light rain and light wind would be great, as in ‘Breakfast On The Veranda’ in our media and audio area or the gift shop .
Keep in mind that Silent Safari style means bringing the outdoors inside. Classic art, with classic sound … instant relaxation.
